Last night we received an email from Dr S ... "Congratulations, you have a heartbeat".
100 BPM, decidual reaction adequate, CRL 3mm - all on track.
One baby - we knew that from our beta level, and our 5 week scan that showed one lovely little sac. I decided to not blog the fact we had one sac - empty - no fetal pole, no yolk sac. Yes, I was stressed, and I Dr Googled, and I sought counsel from our surrogacy friends, who all told me it was way to early to see a yolk sac, much less a fetal pole.
You never stop stressing!
Now we have a yolk sac, a fetal pole and our tiny little bubble of 3mm .... A huge milestone crossed, but we know there is such a long way to go.

I wish you an uneventful pregnancy. This little heartbeat is such a fantastic achievement, I know. It means so much and gives so much hope for the future :) Enjoy your milestones!
What?!? Our fearless leader was stressed? Can we please just pass a resolution on here that 5 week ultrasounds revealing nothing but a gestational sac mean that everything is EXACTLY WHAT IT SHOULD BE! (Anyone who sees anything more should be required to keep it to themselves;)) Congrats on your wonderful news!

Good news!! I'm so happy to hear that!! we are on pins and needles waiting for our next ultrasound..our 5 week scan just a sac and a WEAK decidual reaction...geez...just what we needed to hear....pray for us..keep your fingers crossed...looking forward to staying on this roller coaster ride with you guys and meeting again next summer!!
